try another control for gooseberry sawfly

Every year this fan-trained gooseberry is devastated by sawfly grubs, though once they have stopped eating and pupated it puts on healthy new growth and tries to regenerate. Nematodes have not had any effect, but  after a tip from a friend I intend to try an alternative for next year  - hanging a bird feeder above the bush to encourage the bluetits and long-tailed tits in the garden to spend time there, and be ready next spring to devour the sawfly grubs as an entree to their suet treats. According to Linda, it worked in her garden!
