RHS 'New Syllabus' exam retakes
Fees for both theory and practical exams are now paid 'up front' to the RHS at the beginning of the courses so you do not book or pay for exams separately. However where it is necessary to retake a Unit exam or practical task, there will be a further RHS exam fee which the centre will need to pay to register candidates. For information on the fees, please click on the sidebar. Please note, the RHS increase their fees in September each year so a retake may be more than the original exam.
To pay for a resit, please use the dropdown box below marked 'Other' where you will find current resit dates listed. Please enter the student ID number (which you will find on your 'profile' in the online classroom; NOT your RHS candidate number) which will allow you to make the booking and remove the additional booking charge. If you have the one of the later six-figure enrolment numbers, please use the first five digits.
RHS 'old syllabus' exams:
The final RHS exam round for the 'legacy' Level 3 Certificates is scheduled for February 2025, after which there will be no possibility of resits. You can download the timetable here.
We will be offering these exams at our Ryton centre only: we anticipate that booking will open once the October round of exams for the new syllabus qualification is over and the RHS creates new booking cohorts . Closing date will be the beginning of December. For further information, directions etc please click on the centre tile.
You can also book with the RHS to take your exam online -and whether or not you are a BEST student, you may prefer this option which avoids travelling long distances to an exam centre. Please contact onlineexams@rhs.org.uk for enquiries about this, but be aware that there is an extra £10 supplement on the exam fee and a £25 daily administration charge. (With all exam centres, there will be administration fees to pay.)
To book these exams:
If you are a student with BEST, please enter the student ID number (which you will find on your 'profile' in the online classroom; NOT your RHS candidate number) which will allow you to make the booking and remove the additional booking charge. If you have the one of the later six-figure enrolment numbers, please use the first five numbers.
If you are not studying with BEST you can book exams but there is a booking charge (£25 for each day of exams) which helps to pay for running the exam - invigilation, administration costs such as hire of exam rooms, posting papers etc. RHS exam fees are now increased annually; as we have to pass on the full fee to the RHS when you are registered, our exam fees are £1 more than the RHS fee to cover Paypal deductions. Please note that exam fees are non-refundable in line with RHS policy.
