Royal Horticultural Society

The Royal Horticultural Society is the UK’s leading gardening charity. Its aim is ‘to enrich everyone’s life through plants, and make the UK a greener and more beautiful place’.

The activities of the RHS are focused on delivering a real benefit to all those involved and interested in horticulture and gardening in the UK: with RHS gardens and partner gardens, shows like the Chelsea Flower Show, libraries and scientific research, community projects like Britain in Bloom and schools gardening, as well as education and qualifications.

Horticultural courses have been awarded by the RHS since 1893 and are widely recognised and respected within the horticulture industry. The current qualifications are available to be studied online or at an approved centre across the UK and Ireland.

RHS Qualifications are designed by the RHS to provide learners with up-to-date horticultural information and practical skills which can be used for accessing or developing a horticultural career as well as growing your own curiosity.

Qualifications are designed to be studied part-time, over one year, covering modules from garden landscaping principles to plant growing and propagation. Students can learn at approved centres, such as colleges, or via approved distance learning providers, allowing you to train from the comfort of your own home. The RHS does not currently teach RHS qualifications.

Value and high standards are maintained through Ofqual accreditation and spot check reviews of learning providers.
