Astrantia 'Roma'
Astrantias are shade-tolerant, long-flowering perennials which like heavy clay and self-seed freely. The best strong colouration for the pincushion flowerheads and surrounding bracts may be in hybrids of A. major and A. maxima - of which the cultivar 'Roma is a good example, with clear pink flowers and shiny green leaves.
