Propagate large-leaved begonias
Propagate large-leaved begonias
6th January 2021
Begonia rex and the many ornamental large-leaved begonias are propagated either by whole-leaf slashing, or by leaf squares when the leaves are particularly hairy and more likely to rot than propagate if pinned down onto a tray of compost. Generally the new plantlets start to develop from the veins in about six weeks, before the old leaf rots and dies.
