Germinate lettuce in a garage

Or a shed, or anywhere cool - definitely not in a greenhouse. Lettuce will not germinate when the temperature rises above 25 degrees Celsius, and although outdoor temperatures have fallen a little the greenhouse will still be considerably higher than that, so find a cool shaded place for your successional sowings of lettuce.
