Grass can be beautfiful

Not many places other than large country houses or estates can maintain a meadow like this - farmers generally need to use their land more productively and the rest of us don't have a few spare acres; councils are now sowing verges and roundabouts with wildflower meadow mixes, but it's important to maintain safe sightlines along roads so many verges aren't suitable - 2m of cow parsley can seriously reduce visibility at junctions. A wildflower meadow like this one, backed by woodlands, is a joy to see.
