Erysimum cheiri

Wallflowers are also perennials grown for spring bedding, but this seems a shame as they only really get into their flowering stride into May, then get pulled up to make room for summer bedding, and if they are used in a border they will give early colour for a number of years.  Seed-raised strains give a wide range of colour from the traditional oranges and yellows through peach, deep red and cream.
