Crocus tommasinianus

Crocus tommasinianus

This species' botanical name isn't easy to spell, but it is often known as 'early crocus'; pale mauve or lilac flowers appear any time from late January, spreading themselves across grass or gravel but only really showing up clearly when the flowers are fully open in sunshine.
