Scarify your lawn

Autumn is a good time to improve poor, mossy lawn: a mechanical scarifier can make the grass look much worse after it drags out the thatch, but this will help the grass to grow more vigorously by encouraging 'tillering' at the roots . It doesn't kill moss, but by removing thatch and dead moss it allows a moss killer to work effectively.
