Pick peaches promptly

There is a very brief moment when home-grown peaches are ripe - they start to rot very fast, even when they survive insects and birds.The skin of Peregrine, a white-fleshed peach, is quite tough but the taste is superb. If you have a sunny wall or fence, or the side of a shed like this, think about whether you have space to fan-train a peach.
