Late blight affects potatoes

Once blight spores are in the air, they can enter the leaf pores of potatoes as well as tomatoes.  With potatoes, there is a chance to save the underground crop even after the the disease reaches the leaves and stems - you need to cut back the foliage as soon as possible before the disease can travel down into the tubers and cause them to rot.
