'Mountain Bluet' or perennial cornflower is a tough and ubiquitous garden knapweed which often escapes into the countryside. Thistle-like blue flowers appear over a long period in late spring/summer. The foliage is prone to powdery mildew but it responds well to being cut back hard and comes back with fresh disease -free leaves.Clumps are easy to split but it also seeds itself quite freely.
