Spot suckers on witch hazel

Suckers on grafted trees and shrubs are not always obvious but this Hamamelis 'Arnold Promise' has produced one tall, non-flowering straight stem from its base with very little branching; witchhazel typically grows slowy and with an open well-branched shape.
