Cornus mas

Clusters of tiny bright yellow flowers cover the bare branches of the Cornelian Cherry in February; later there will be large rather dull green leaves, and in early autumn glossy red fruits which the birds devour. It is a good addition to a wild or woodland garden, but the flowers are without a scent, which is disappointing at this time of year.
