Clematis viticella 'Venosa Violacea'

Another really useful later=flowering clematis is 'Venosa Violacea' which is probably the largest-flowered of the viticellas. It starts flowering towards the end of June and will flower on and off throughout the summer. Each dark purple petal has a broad pale stripe down the middle.
