Aesculus hippocastanum
The sticky buds of horse chestnut are unfurling like pale green batwings as the leaves open, and buds are forming for the tall candles of white flowers. The green is so fresh that it's hard to imagine that by July the leaves will be browned and shrivelling with leaf miner damage.
