Plant out runner beans

Now that the soil has warmed up and the wind is much less cold, you can plant out runner and climbing french beans if you sowed them under cover, or direct sow them around the base of a wigwam or tent of canes. You may need to give young plants some protection from grazing slugs and snails until they begin to twine up their supports.
