Cercis canadensis 'Forest Pansy'

Cercis canadensis

The most commonly grown cultivar of this is 'Forest Pansy', a multi-stemmed, tree with large heart-shaped, deep red-purple leaves which turn to orange, bronze and red-purple in autumn. Like C. siliquastrum the small pink flowers appear on the bare stems, but C. canadensis doesn't flower as freely - the foliage is its main beauty.
