but don't be too tidy...

If you can leave some areas in the garden un-tidied through the winter, this  will help protect wildlife and the beneficial creatures which will control your pests  next year.  Hollow stems can provide overwintering shelter for lacewings and ladybirds, dead wood for beetles and toads.
