Staphylea colchica
The caucasian bladdernut is a vigorous shrub that can quickly make an unusual and attractive small tree. It has glossy deciduous leaves and in late spring it is covered in clusters of small, white bell-shaped flowers which have a vanilla fragrance. In autumn these develop into large inflated pods of greenish-white.
