This two day course is essential for all those involved in using a chainsaw in a professional capacity (as part of their normal job) for example ground working Arborist who is required fell and process small trees as part of their role. (We run it directly after Chainsaw Maintenance and Cross Cutting so that training for both qualifications can be undertaken in one week).

What will I study?

You will study the underpinning knowledge essential for felling and processing small trees. In addition, you will be trained to correctly fell small trees and process timber on the ground.

What is covered?

The following areas are covered during the course in one unit:

Unit 203 Fell & Process Trees Using a Chainsaw

  • Be able to work safely
  • Be able to fell and process trees up to 380mm
  • Know relevant health and safety legislation and industry good practice
  • Know how to fell and process trees up to 380mm
  • Know how to remove branches from felled trees using a chainsaw
  • Know how to take down hung-up trees

How is it delivered and assessed?

This qualification is examined by an Independent City & Guilds NPTC Assessor after training has been completed at a mutually convenient date. In most instances (subject to Assessor availability) we can arrange assessment directly after training.

What qualification will I get?

 You will receive a City & Guilds NPTC Certificate in Level 2 Award in Award in Felling Small Trees 200-380mm. Note this is issued directly by City & Guilds NPTC.

What is the cost and venue(s)?

Training is £525.00 per candidate, registration through CEPT id £ 27.00 and certification with City & Guilds NPTC is £35.00, assessment by a City & Guilds Independent Assessor is £91.00 total payable is £678.00 (No VAT)

What else do I need to know?

We have a very high success rate in preparing candidates for assessment, to date we have achieved 100% success!

Note: Whilst we do have some PPE available, for this course you are expected to provide your own PPE i.e. Chainsaw trousers, boots, gloves and a helmet with a mesh face shield that meets industry standards.

What can I do after completing this course?

You can go on to undertake training in a variety of Certificates of Competence applicable to your role.
