Short Course (North Moreton) Appraising a Mature Garden
An opportunity for working gardeners to look at a mature/overgrown garden and get some guidance on how to tackle it: what to save, what to let go, and what to regenerate.
A visit during the morning , making notes on the plants, will be followed by a classroom session in the afternoon , discussing ideas for renovating the planting.
The one-day course will include:
- Meet at the village hall, North Moreton
- Travel to an 'over-mature' garden nearby for a guided visit, examining plantings and individual trees and shrubs to make notes on their condition and their contribution to the overall planting scheme.
- A classroom session at North Moreton where students can put forward their ideas on which plants are key and worth renovating and which are at the end of their useful life.
- How and when to carry out renovation pruning
