Impatiens x hybrida SunPatiens®
This impatiens hybrid between New Guinea impatiens and a wild species, bred by the Japanese company Sakata, was introduced in 2006 - it prefers full sun, unlike conventional Impatiens, and has a long flowering period stretching from spring to first frosts. The plants are typically larger and bushier than New Guinea impatiens, and the thick petals and leaves are more resistant to disease including Impatiens downy mildew.
