C. fusca var. violacea

Clematis fusca is another urn-shaped flower, part of the Viorna group; it can flower abundantly from June to September, but but it is very unobtrusive, with muted brown flowers with a felted outer surface to the hanging bells. C. fusca var violacea is slightly more common, and more visible, with dark purple flowers which are slightly glossy on the outside.
