Triteleia laxa

Triteleia, formerly Brodiaea, is like a miniature agapanthus: a round head of blue starry flowers on a stem about 30 cm high. It's a wildflower of California, but it survives UK winters well; you can plant dried corms during the winter for a very good show in early summer. The common name that the RHS give to it is 'grassnut' but some catalogues have the more exotic sounding 'Ithuriel's Spears'.
