Lilium regale

This is among the easiest lilies to grow in most gardens, and one of the most spectacular. Each flower starts off with a deep purple bud before it opens into a stunning white trumpet flower up to 15cm long, the petals flushed with pink on towards the base.Stems up to 1.5 metres high can carry half a dozen flowers, which are strongly fragrant, especially in the evening. THe Royal Lily tolerates most soils, except ones prone to waterlogging.
