Buddleja globosa

Buddleja globosa

This is probably the earliest flowering buddleja, a South American native which grows strongly and produces rich orange balls of flower from May onwards. Pruning right after flowering gives the shrubs time for new growth to develop and ripen. Don't wait until autumn , and certainly not until winter like the summer buddlejas, or you will not get flowers the following year. Cut back up to 20% of old stems to base level.
