Lysimachia ciliata 'Firecracker'

Like the rest of the genus this purple-leaved border plant prefers moist soils, wilting if the ground dries out, but it does need some sun for the best leaf colour - it is greener in shade. It runs like mint when conditions suit it, and responds well to being cut hard back if you are growing it for the foliage contrast to other plants - cut it down when it becomes leggy and a flush of new deep purple foliage will follow.
