Centaurea montana

This is a tough and ubiquitous garden perennial; clumps are easy to split but it also seeds itself quite freely.Thistle-like blue flowers appear over a long period in late spring/summer. The foliage is prone to powdery mildew so chop it back after its first flowering to encourage new growth and possibly later flowers.
