Sawfly control ?

This year a peanut feeder has been hung from the shed guttering above a fan-trained gooseberry which is habitually wrecked by sawfly, despite nematode drenches.  It's a reliable source of material for the pest ident each year  - but this year, either the grubs are hatching late or just possibly the birds - bluetits particularly - are doing a great job?
