Lamprocapnos spectabilis

Lamprocapnos used to be another Dicentra: these rhizomatous perennials are taller, but with the same fleshy stems and habit of dying back in summer. The heart-shaped pendent flowers give this the common name of 'Dutchman's Breeches' or 'Bleeding Heart'. There is white form too.
