Winter anemones will give you an easy drift of spring colour; if you buy dry rhizomes, soak them before you plant to give them a better start. The blue form will seed itself freely - as it has into this pine needle mulch. When the leaves yellow they can be pulled away, or they will shrivel up naturally.
