Asplenium scolopendrium

Evergreen Hart's tongue fern is ideal for a shady humus-rich area, but can tolerate dry conditions once it is properly established. Fresh new wavy-edged fronds unfurl in early spring, and remain all year, developing striking bands of spore-cases on the underside of each leaf in summer.
