Crocus chrysanthus

Crocus species are confusing - the earliest to flower are generally smallish, often yellow in colour; these are usually C. chrysanthus or cultivars bred from this small golden 'snow crocus' or hybridised with C. biflorus to give the earliest of the blue shades like 'Blue Pearl'.
