Cut back hellebore leaves
Cut back hellebore leaves
28th January 2022
The flower buds and new leaves of Helleborus x hybridus are starting to unfurl above the ground so cut back the old leathery evergreen leaves, being careful to avoid the flower stems. Sometimes hellebores develop a fungal leaf spot, and if you cut off the old leaves before the new ones start to open you will help to stop the disease spores being transferred - and best of all you can see the flowers clearly as they start to open.
