Be calculating about your seed order

When you've thought about the plants you want to grow next summer, for colour or for the table, you might also like to think whether you really want to sow seeds for all of them - or whether it is more efficient to order just a few plug plants or seedlings? The extra cost may be offset by the cost of growing more plants and protecting them for longer. If you're in a gardening group or can get together to share your surplus with other people, there's no question - sow seeds!
