Salvia officinalis

This is common sage, of  traditional 'sage and onion' stuffing.  It is a perennial, evergreen subshrub, with woody stems, grayish leaves, and blue to purplish flowers. It is a member of the mint family Lamiaceae and native to the Mediterranean region, preferring free-draining soils and a sunny spot.Medicinally, it has been used in European medicine to treat mild dyspepsia (such as heartburn and bloating), excessive sweating, age-related cognitive disorders, and inflammations in the throat and skin.
