Fuchsia 'Lottie Hobby'

Fuchsia 'Lottie Hobby'

The RHS lists this as 'overwinter indoors', but after surviving more than ten years in a cold Oxfordshire garden it seems as if despite its tiny leaves and crimson flowers, this delicate-looking miniature fuchsia is actually quite hardy; these tiny forms were formerly classed as 'microphylla' fuchsias, but the group are now called 'encliandras'. It works best in a raised bed, to show off the flowers, or in a rockery or alpine container to give late summer colour.
