Symphyotrichum lateriflorum 'Lady in Black'
Despite the difficult name it is well worth growing this (former) aster for easy autumn colour, with masses of small white daisies on tall wiry stems covered in deep purple foliage. Unlike many other asters it doesn't get powdery mildew.
