A Halloween special, the sinister Black Bat Flower is a tropical evergreen plant, offered for sale in the UK as a houseplant 'requiring some skill'.The magnificent purple-black inflorescence has wide-spread wings and bracts like whiskers hanging from the sides, so that it looks lke a bat or a cat's head.
