Sambucus nigra f. porphyrophylla

'Eva' is the cultivar name of the purple-leaved elder often sold under its trading name of BLACK LACE. If it is allowed to flower, fruits will be followed by the typically tart but edible purple-black berries of elder; it will rarely flower if it is coppiced hard for foliage effects.
