While autumn colour is an extra bonus in some plants, for others it's their main season of interest. Virginia Creeper ( Parthenocissus quinquefolia) may produce strong 5-lobed leaves and interesting small fruits is grown primarily for the spectacular bonfire of colour it produces before its leaves finally drop.
