Hibiscus syriacus 'Hamabo'

Hibiscus are good shrubs for late summer colour on neutral and chalk soils, but they are slow to come into leaf and the early leaves tend to look surprisingly yellow, greening up later. 'Hamabo' is a cultivar with exceptionally large blush-pink flowers, with a conspicuous red blotch at the base of each petal. Deadheading will help to keep the shrub looking at its best.
