Check your runner beans

Try to check runner beans every day ( in daylight!) , because they grow very fast and the beans aren't easy to see under the leaves - it is important to pick even oversize bean pods which you don't want to eat as 'green beans' as the plants will carry on flowering and being productive as long as you carry on picking them. Only leave the pods to swell if you want to dry and eat beans towards the end of the season, or save your own seed for next year.
