This is one of the latest alliums to flower, and its almost egg-shaped purple flowers combine beautifully with grasses as well as late border perennials. Its botanical name isn't user-friendly, and 'round-headed garlic' isn't much better, as the flowerheads are definitely not round! It self-seeds quite well.
