Goatsbeard or False Astilbe  is a tall, bushy, clump-forming plant with dark green ferny foliage and cream coloured flowers in large plumes like a giant astilbe. The flowers are held well above the foliage, but they will need some support   - as the flower spikes age and get heavier they tend to flop down. Male and female flowers are  produced on separate plants, and the male flowers are showier producing denser plumes.
