Clematis 'Madame Julia Correvon'

This viticella has relatively large flowers; it comes into flower at the beginning of July and continues for another month or so. The wine-red flowers are rather gappy-looking (the technical term is 'open structured' and they can have between four and six petals, which actually tepals if you are a botanist. It grows well in partial shade, which makes the colour stand out well.
