Watch for green clematis flowers

The first flowers on late-blooming clematis like viticellas are often tinged with green - particularly the white V. alba luxurians ; this is a disorder, not a disease, and even though the recent weather has been very hot it is generally due to cold earlier in the summer - later flowers should develop normal colour.
