Tropaeolum speciosum
This wet summer weather seems to suit the Flame Creeper, a perennial climber which requires an acid soil . It can be difficult to establish, and dies down completely in winter, but once it is happy it will scramble through hedges or over spring -flowering shrubs like Rhododendrons, covering them with a trail of showy scarlet flowers.
